Tricky lawn “Diseases”
Categories: Disease and Insects Lawn Care Plant Care Gone Bad
Any guesses as to what this might be?
I have some inside information on this one (I watched it happen) but before I reveal the problem, any ideas on what it might be?
This type of damage is actually fairly common. It happens “all of the sudden” and then the grass typically recovers a couple of weeks later depending on the turf species. It is simply dried out (cooked might be a better word) from having a running car parked on the grass for a few minutes.
Two lessons here….don’t leave a car running on a turf area and don’t rush to conclusions when attempting to diagnose a landscape maintenance problem. Try to gather as much information as you can before determining a cause. In this case, a clue was the slight impression of tire tracks, perhaps you can see them in the upper portion of the picture.
